My Travel Map

As far as I can remember, when I was a little girl, I always hated to travel. I hated the long hours of drive or flight, I hated the packing before hand, and the hectic schedule especially when my family and I joined some kind of a tour program. All I wanted to do back then, was just to stay in the hotel room and watch some TV. But of course my parents didn't let me:P

But, as I grow older, I realize that my feelings towards traveling starting to soften up a bit. And even now, I would say that I LOVE to travel. Now I can really enjoy visiting another city or country, learning about its historical background, meeting new people, sightseeing and admiring the view, buildings, castles, restaurants, oceans, mountains, even museums! Go figure.. I guess that's growing up is all about. You appreciate the things that you tend to ignore when you were just a kid and your idea of a good time was just sitting in front of the TV with your toys & books besides you. And since I'm living in Europe, traveling has become so much easier. It only takes a couple of hours by train or plane and whoala...you're in a different country.:D

So I really should thank my parents after all, for 'dragging' me to travel with them. Maybe they knew that someday I would appreciate the fact that I've been traveling to different places. Well mum, dad, I've come to my senses and you're right...Traveling is so much fun!!

Out of those places, I've also made a list of my favorite destinations. Can you guess what is at the top of the list? Yup, that's right...It's my hometown Jakarta. It's the city where I was born and grew up. It's the place I call home and miss every single day.

Other cities/countries that I would love to visit:

Nice (France), actually I'm planning to go there at the end of the year with my family.:)

Geneva (Switzerland), this is plan B for my new year's holiday, in case my family could not come to Europe. I've always wanted to go there cause I hear it is so gorgeous especially this time of year.

Vienna (Austria): I want to learn how to ski there..hahaha..yeah right!!

Monte Carlo (Monaco): I saw this place on TV during F1 race and decided that I have to visit someday.

Madrid, Barcelona (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic): I hear from my friends that they are beautiful cities with great historical buildings.

Milan (Italy): I'm going to attend a congress in Milan next year yipiiieee!!

Moscow (Russia): I know that the weather is impossible there, but I'm just intrigued.

Rio de Janeiro (Brazil): exotic don't you think?

Lombok (Indonesia): They say it has great and clean beaches.

Manado (Indonesia): I want to see Bunaken.

I know, I know, it's a lot of places...But one could always dream, am I right??? I'm just going to say Amin.....:-D
